Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why, and how to control them

Last Updated: 2026-10-04

This Cookie Policy explains how X-Ray Screening Technology ("we," "us," "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on xrayscreening.com (the "Site"). It supplements, and should be read together with, the privacy policy.

1. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website you visit. Cookies are widely used to make websites work, to remember preferences, to measure how pages are used. References to "cookies" on this page also cover similar technologies such as local storage.

2. Categories of cookies in use

Strictly necessary

The Site does not set any cookies of its own. Navigation, the menu and the interactive tools work without cookies.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics (Google's GA4 product, account G-MZEH909C71) to understand how readers find and use the Site. Google Analytics reads and writes cookies to identify returning visitors in aggregate, measure session duration, count page views, and report on traffic sources. The information is processed by Google in line with the Google Privacy Policy and Google's "How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services" notice.

Advertising

The Site does not currently show advertising and does not use advertising or affiliate cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated before any such cookies are used.

3. Cookies set by third parties

The Google Analytics cookies described above are set via Google's script. We do not control these cookies directly. The third parties that set them are responsible for their content, lifetime, and the data they collect, in line with their own privacy notices.

4. How to control cookies

Opt out of Google Analytics

You can prevent Google Analytics from using your data by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Browser settings

All major browsers let you block, delete, or be notified about cookies through their settings:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Cookies and site data

Blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to read the Site.

5. Do Not Track

Browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal as part of each request. Because there is no agreed standard for how a website should respond to DNT, the Site does not currently treat DNT as a request to disable analytics cookies. The opt-out tools above remain the most reliable way to express a preference.

6. Cookie retention

Cookie lifetimes vary by purpose:

  • Session cookies are deleted automatically when you close your browser.
  • Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_<ID>) expire after up to 2 years by default.

7. Changes to this policy

This Cookie Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or in applicable law. The current version is always the one published on this page, dated above.

8. Contact

Questions about cookies or about how we handle personal data should be sent to contact@xrayscreening.com. See the privacy policy for the broader statement on data collection and your rights.
